Lampson Turn-Key Operation: November 2012 Darwin / Jabiru – Transport of Oversize Loads – Site Lifting and Installation Lampson’s heavy lifting and transport equipment during November 2012 deliveries of over-sized equipment from the port in Darwin to site at Jabiru in Australia’s Northern Territory. Upon arrival at site, the loads were lifted and installed onto their foundations by 600 and 160 tonne capacity crawler cranes. The transport component was completed by a team of trained personnel supplied through Lampson’s heavy transport arm Megalift Pty Ltd. The 16 axle Cometto platform trailers carried the larger Concentrators while floats were utilised for the smaller Vapour Washer units. One of Lampson’s new Manitowoc 18000 crawler cranes lifted the loads from transport or out of temporary storage with the help of a Manitowoc 777. The loads were up-ended and placed vertically onto the concrete foundations at the Jabiru site.
